As the Content Ingestion Product Owner you must be able to communicate with all areas of the company. You will work with Product Manager and Architecture counterparts to define product requirements and ensure delivered solution meets NFRs. You will work with technology teams as a representative of the customer and internal stakeholders to help create and refine requirements and backlogs, while forming mutual understanding across the development team and other stakeholders. Your role as Product Owner will close the gap between a Feature Owner’s understanding of the needs of the marketplace and the development team’s need for product direction.
You will lead the implementation of feature enhancements and new product offerings in a highly collaborative environment. You will implement product vision and product development with a clear focus on customer and end-user needs. This role will fulfill the development team’s need for product direction, understanding the detail of personas and their problems.
•Manage communications and relationships with diverse stakeholders, including but not limited to Product Managers, developers, Scrum Master, subject matter experts, architects, UI experts, the tech support team, and other functional leaders. •Serve as the primary link between the Product Manager (and other functional leaders) and the development team; by doing so, also serve as the customer and end-user proxy to the development team. •Collaborate closely with Product Managers and System Architects to translate business and technical priorities into user stories. •Communicate feature status to Product Managers and business owners, and escalate issues that need business decisions or direction. •Provide product subject matter expertise to the development team. •Iteration execution •Own, build, prune, refine, maintain and provide visibility of the team backlog with input from key stakeholders. •Review and prioritize the backlog for iteration planning, including coordination of dependencies with other Agile teams. •Draft and own the team goals for each iteration. •Fully own story acceptance, validating that each finished story meets the acceptance criteria and completeness. •Be the key driver and coordinator of the team demos. •Bring unique perspective to team retrospectives, helping to drive improvements across the team. •Story definition
•Bachelor’s degree •5+ years of experience as a software engineer or architect •3+ years of experience in a technology leadership role •1+ years working with outsourced development teams •1+ years of experience as a Product Owner within a Lean/Agile software development environment
•Strong written and oral communication skills, experience communicating with internal and external audiences, including customers. •AWS Certified Solution Architecture certification. •Experience with highly scalable content ingestion systems. •Maturity, judgment, negotiation/influence skills; analytical and leadership skills are essential •Effective written and oral communication with multiple levels of business and technical leadership •Detail-oriented, yet able to look at a wide array of choices and identify what truly matters; problem solving skills are a must •Must be able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, prioritize workload effectively and thrive in a dynamic and complex environment; must be highly organized •Proven ability to work with cross-functional teams to drive the implementation of new features as well as resolve operational issues •Experience developing new software and services, as well as enhancements to existing, legacy systems •Experience working or consulting in library, education, publishing, or information industries
