Merrimack Valley School District has the following Special Education Vacancies for the 2018-2019 School Year:
GENERAL SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHER - LD certification desirable, for a full time elementary position starting in the 2018-2019 school year. Responsibilities include direct service provision and case-management duties including completion of required special education paperwork and understanding of processes for compliance with State and Federal rules and regulations. The candidate should be a team player who can facilitate IEP team meetings and provide supervision to paraprofessionals as needed.
OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST - Seeking a full time Occupational Therapist with state certification and national license. Responsibilities include direct service provision, completion of evaluations and IEP team participation to include creating goals/objectives and progress monitoring for identified students.
HIGH SCHOOL FUNCTIONAL SKILLS TEACHER - General special education certification required, IDD certification desirable, for a full time special education teacher/case manager at MVHS starting in the 2018-2019 school year. Responsibilities include direct instruction in reading and math, collaboration with general education staff to support inclusion of students, coordination of community job sites and supervision of paraprofessionals. The candidate will also provide case-management duties to include completion of required special education paperwork and have a strong understanding of processes for compliance with State and Federal rules and regulations.
HIGH SCHOOL COMMUNITY EMPLOYMENT/TRANSITION COORDINATOR - Program assistant to support student involvement in community volunteer/job exploration work sites. Coordinator will develop and maintain current community job sites, including obtaining annual Department of Labor approval for all sites. Responsibilities also include administering assessments/evaluations for determining students progress at various sites, collaboration with students, families, school staff, and work site managers, ensuring successful access for students and direct support for students at sites as needed. Annual events such as Work Site Appreciation Night and Transition Resources Fair must also be coordinated.
