The New Hampshire Department of Agriculture, Markets & Foods Division of Animal Industry is searching to fill the new position of Assistant State Veterinarian. The assistant state veterinarian will provide expertise in veterinary medicine and animal care during work with various animal species. The successful applicant will assist with development of animal health policy to ensure the protection of agriculture in New Hampshire, including animal disease surveillance and response, emergency management, resource allocation, and animal disease traceability. The majority of time will be spent in support of agriculture programs though the position will also oversee implementation of household pet vending programs as part of its portfolio.
The position will work closely with the state veterinarian and 4 other division employees to identify, prioritize, and address the operational needs of the division. The position has some supervisory responsibilities, and will act when necessary in the state veterinarians absence.
This permanent position is located at the department offices in Concord, NH.

Approved salary is unclassified Labor Grade EE
