Overview
We are seeking a skilled CNC Lathe Setup/Operator to join our dynamic manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in machining and manufacturing processes, with hands-on experience in operating CNC lathes and related equipment. This role requires a keen attention to detail, mechanical knowledge, and the ability to read blueprints and technical drawings. The successful candidate will contribute to the production of high-quality components while ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC lathes according to specifications and production schedules.
- Interpret blueprints and technical drawings to determine machining requirements.
- Utilize precision measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers to ensure accuracy of machined parts.
- Perform routine maintenance on CNC equipment, including troubleshooting issues as they arise.
- Collaborate with engineering teams on CNC programming using software such as Mastercam and CAM programming tools.
- Conduct quality control checks throughout the machining process to maintain product standards.
- Handle materials safely using forklifts and other materials handling equipment.
- Assist in the assembly of components when required, ensuring all parts meet specifications.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment in compliance with safety regulations.

Requirements:
Experience
- Proven experience as a CNC operator or similar role within a manufacturing facility.
- Familiarity with multi spindle, multi axis machines (Mazak, Puma, Miyano), programmable logic controllers, and various CNC machinery including milling machines and press brakes.
- Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) principles is preferred.
- Experience with fabrication processes, welding, stamping presses, and assembly lines is advantageous.
- Proficiency in CAD software for blueprint reading and design modifications.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot machinery issues effectively.
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to machining tasks.
- May be required to meet certain certificates in the field and preferred to have at least 5-10 years of programming tooling and setup experience.
