Job Summary/Objective:
The Technical Program Manager is the primary liaison between the company and the customer and directs every aspect of assigned programs in tight coordination with Principal Investigators and System Engineers. The Program Manager will be responsible for overall customer management and satisfaction including quotations, delivery, quality, flexibility, communication, and responsiveness. The technical program manager will also manage IRAD and engineering projects where the customer is internal. The Technical Program manager will coordinate the efforts of team members from multiple disciplines to achieve project goals and ensure that customer deliverables are met.
Knowledge/Skills/Duties/Responsibilities:
- Preparing, updating and maintaining program/project planning documents
- Administering the projects, tasks, schedules, milestones, and deliverables that make up the program
- Managing transversal teams to ensure successful completion of all program deliverables
- Holding regular customer meetings to report on status and coordinate activities
- Holding regular internal meetings to coordinate projects and tasks for the program.
- Holding necessary internal reporting meetings re. financial, technical and schedule performance of the programs/projects
- Preparing, organizing, and tracking document deliverables and formatting them appropriately for the customers’ requirements
- Ensuring that the scope of the program is consistent with the contractual documents
- Managing the change process for the contractual documents as well as the technical and program documents
- Tracking labor, materials, and other project expenses and preparing reports using company systems.
- Organizing program owned materials and equipment.
- Participation in the preparation of proposals, budgets, schedules and plans.
- Strong computer skills are required, including extensive experience with MS Excel.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills are required.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to multi-task and adjust priorities quickly.
Qualifications - Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field or an equivalent amount of education, training and experience.
- 3+ years of program/project management is desired and industry related experience is preferred.
- General familiarity with the technologies in use is a plus.
Physical/Environmental Requirements:
- Office Environment:
- Ability to stand and sit for long periods of time.
- Ability to perform repetitive motion (keyboarding, 10-key, phones).
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
- The employee will likely be placed in an office. The work environment characteristics are representative of those that an employee encounters while performing essential functions of the job in a typical office/workstation situation.
- Able to work sitting or standing at desk and operate a computer via standard input devices such as using a keyboard and reading information on a monitor.
Security Access:
- Willingness and ability to acquire a security clearance is preferred.
