Job Description

New England Cancer Specialists (NECS) is seeking a part-time 16-24 hour Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW/LICSW) to provide professional services to NECS Oncology patients and families. The ideal candidate would cover 2 days in Portsmouth, NH, and 1 day in our Kennebunk, ME clinic. These services include evaluation of psychosocial needs, crisis intervention, development of treatment plans, counseling, and coordination of community services and resources. The Social worker will work in collaboration with physicians, APP's, palliative and supportive care teams, financial advocates, and other staff to support positive patient outcomes.

Job Duties:

Conducts comprehensive, culturally sensitive psychosocial assessments of patients, as requested by the care team.
Provides counseling services as well as crisis intervention as well as counseling services for patients, both in-person and via telehealth.
Develops and maintains an individualized plan of care based on patient and family needs.
Works collaboratively with, and provides psychological support to, the clinical care team.
Identifies relevant community resources and links them to patients as appropriate.
Advocates for the patient to ensure quality outcomes.
Develops and conducts Education/Support Groups for patients/families.
Participates in multidisciplinary meetings and committees, as required.

Travel: Social worker will have offices in both Kennebunk and Portsmouth and will work out of those offices on a scheduled basis.

LCSW in the state of Maine and LICSW New Hampshire are required or the ability to obtain.
MSW required
Minimum of 2 years of social work experience in a healthcare setting.
Experience providing psychosocial services to patients with chronic illnesses.
Experience in Oncology, Hospice, or Palliative care preferred.
