SUMMARY: The Sr. Business Analyst plays a key role in supporting the senior management team with evaluating, designing, developing, and implementing standard reports, business processes, and information systems solutions. This individual will manage all aspects of Business Intelligence (BI) projects, from start to finish. Key responsibilities include creating and maintaining business strategies, data models, and dashboards for different projects or categories. Additionally, the role involves providing strategic advice on business challenges, tracking performance, monitoring trends, and analyzing data for various categories and programs.
Additionally, the Sr. Business Analyst will proactively collaborate with cross-functional teams and play a crucial role in coordinating with the IT team. This includes ensuring smooth execution of projects, getting work done effectively, and, if needed, taking the lead in prioritizing projects for IT development time.
This role requires 3 to 4 years of related experience. Contributes to complex aspects of a project. Makes recommendations to manager for strategic pathway for Business Intelligence software and initiatives. Work is generally independent and collaborative in nature.

Compensation: This salaried, exempt position pays from $78,000 to $88,000 per year. The estimated annual pay for new hires generally ranges from $78,000 to $90,000 or more, depending on experience, education level and annual bonuses.

- Advanced Excel Proficiency: Strong expertise in Excel, including advanced functions such as Slicers, Pivots, Add-ins, Power Query, Macros, and other complex features to analyze and manipulate large data sets effectively.
- Data Visualization & Reporting Tools: Proficiency in using Power BI and other visualization tools to create interactive reports and dashboards. Skilled in DAX and M queries to build custom calculations and data models.
- Database & Querying Skills: Solid understanding and experience in SQL and various ETL tools, enabling the extraction, manipulation, and analysis of data from various database systems.
- Supply Chain, E-commerce, and Sales Analysis: Knowledge and experience in analyzing data related to supply chain distribution, e-commerce performance, and sales metrics, with an ability to generate actionable insights that drive business decisions.
To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to complete the following essential duties and responsibilities:
- Design, Develop, and Implement Scalable Data Solutions - Create and manage data pipelines that extract, transform, and load sales, customers Point of Sales and inventory related data, ensuring accurate demand forecasting for each SKU. This process enables better decision-making, streamlines order management, and aligns with the organization's strategic goals for inventory optimization and sales performance. Ensure scalability and high performance of these data solutions to handle varying data volumes and provide reliable business insights. (30% of work)
- Collaborate with Business Partners and Translate Requirements - Work closely with process owners and cross-functional teams to understand business needs and translate them into technical specifications for productivity reports, dashboards, and inventory management tools. Provide strategic guidance on the development of reporting models to track key performance metrics like sales growth, stock turnover, and stockout analysis, ensuring alignment with business objectives and operational efficiency. - Optimize Data Models and Reporting Tools - Build and maintain robust data models and reporting tools that allow junior analysts to focus on insights rather than manual data aggregation. Automate reporting solutions to track key metrics like stock levels, sales trends, and order fulfillment, driving better decision-making across teams. Ensure that the reports provide actionable insights for improving sales strategies, inventory management, and overall supply chain performance. (20% of work)
- Explore and Implement New Technologies - Research, evaluate, and recommend new Big Data technologies, tools, and platforms to enhance data analysis and reporting capabilities. Incorporate these advancements into existing data pipelines and business intelligence processes, ensuring the team stays ahead of emerging trends. Mentor junior team members on these new technologies and provide guidance on implementing best practices. (20% of work)
- Support and Maintain Business Intelligence Systems - Provide ongoing support for BI systems, ensuring smooth operation and quick resolution of any issues in data pipelines and reporting tools. Conduct detailed analysis of escalated issues, collaborating with relevant stakeholders to diagnose and resolve problems swiftly. Document solutions and system perspectives for knowledge transfer, improving the team's operational efficiency. (15% of work)
- Drive Continuous Improvement and Reporting Efficiency - Continuously monitor and refine reporting processes to reduce manual work and improve data accuracy. Provide actionable insights on improving reporting efficiency, forecasting accuracy, and inventory optimization. Guide junior analysts on best practices for enhancing their data-driven decision-making capabilities and ensuring consistency across all reporting tools and systems. (10% of work)
Additionally the candidate must meet the following Education and/or Experience requirements:
- Bachelors Degree or equivalent work experience in Data Science, Business Analytics, Information Systems, or related disciplines.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills with a thoughtful, solution-oriented approach.
- Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts, data modeling techniques, and the ability to design efficient data structures.
- Familiarity with API, REST API, and similar programming interfaces for data integration and automation.
- Experience building and optimizing 'big data' pipelines, architectures, and datasets to handle large-scale data operations.
- Domain-specific experience in Retail, e-commerce, Supply Chain, Distribution, or Logistics is a plus.
- Ability to develop and write clear technical specifications and documentation for project requirements and processes.
- Strong ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience in coaching and mentoring less experienced team members, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented team environment.
