Controller – Non-Profit Organization

About the Role:
The Controller will report directly to the CFO and manage a small accounting team. This person will oversee the monthly close process, maintain the general ledger, manage daily accounting operations, prepare internal and external financial reports, and serve as the key point of contact for the annual audit.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the month-end and year-end close processes
- Maintain accurate and compliant general ledger systems
- Oversee daily accounting operations (AP, payroll, financial reporting, cash management)
- Prepare monthly and quarterly reports for senior leadership
- Manage bank reconciliations and daily cash reporting
- Serve as the point person for the annual audit, coordinating schedules and required documentation
- Support the CFO in internal controls development and process improvement
- Respond to financial and reporting requests from internal teams and community stakeholders
- Assist in special projects and other duties as assigned
Compensation & Benefits:
Salary: $90,000–$110,000, commensurate with experience

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (required)
Experience leading a month-end close process (required)
Non-profit accounting experience (strongly preferred)
Experience with audits, bank reconciliations, and internal reporting
Strong organizational and communication skills
A collaborative and proactive leadership style
