Position Overview
The Springfield Jewish Community Center is seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Cheer & Hip Hop Instructor to lead engaging, age-appropriate classes for children in grades Pre-K through 5th. This program combines the energy and teamwork of cheerleading with the rhythm and creativity of hip hop dance to give participants a fun introduction to movement, performance, and self-expression.
Responsibilities

Teach foundational cheerleading moves, chants, and routines in a fun and safe environment.

Introduce children to modern hip hop dance styles with a focus on rhythm, musicality, and creativity.

Develop simple choreography tailored to each age group (Pre-K–2nd and 3rd–5th).

Promote teamwork, confidence, and positive energy in every session.

Ensure safety and provide modifications for varying skill levels.

Encourage an inclusive environment where all participants feel successful.

Prepare activity space before class and ensure a clean, organized area after class.
Qualifications
-
Experience in cheerleading, dance, or youth performance instruction.

Previous experience working with children (teaching, coaching, or recreational leadership).

Ability to create fun, engaging lessons that combine fitness, teamwork, and performance.

Strong leadership, patience, and communication skills.

CPR/First Aid certification preferred (or willingness to obtain).
