Part-Time Pastry Chef

Edson Hill | Stowe, Vermont

Edson Hill is looking for a talented and passionate Part-Time Pastry Chef to join our culinary team.

We’re looking for someone who loves what they do, takes pride in making things from scratch, and enjoys the creativity that comes with working with seasonal ingredients. If you’re a pastry professional who likes having a voice in the kitchen, working with a great team, and creating desserts that make people happy, we’d love to meet you.

About the Role

You’ll be responsible for creating a seasonal selection of desserts, pastries, and breads for our restaurant and hotel. This is a great opportunity for an experienced pastry professional - or a skilled cook with a strong passion for baking - who enjoys having creative input while maintaining high standards of quality and consistency. We want someone who is comfortable working independently, but who also enjoys being part of a collaborative kitchen.

There is room for creativity here. We’re open to new ideas, seasonal inspiration, and someone who wants to put their own touch on what we offer our guests.

Responsibilities

Prepare and execute a seasonal variety of desserts, pastries, breads, and other baked goods
Develop and contribute ideas for seasonal desserts and rotating menus
Maintain consistency, quality, presentation, and proper portioning
Prepare mise en place and maintain an organized pastry station
Help manage pastry ingredients, inventory, ordering, and proper storage
Follow food safety and sanitation standards
Assist with special events, private dinners, and other pastry needs as required

What We’re Looking For

Previous professional pastry or baking experience preferred
Strong understanding of baking and pastry techniques
Creativity and an appreciation for seasonal, high-quality ingredients
Excellent attention to detail and presentation
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
Dependability and a strong work ethic
Ability to work well as part of a small, collaborative culinary team

Schedule

Part-time or full-time, depending on the right candidate and their availability.
