A rewarding contract opportunity is available for a qualified school social worker to provide dedicated support at the elementary level during a maternity leave, August through December 2026. This part-time position, scheduled for 2-3 days per week (8:15am-3:30pm), offers a manageable caseload focused on working closely with students in an emotional/behavioral disabilities (ED) program. With only three students currently in the program, this role ensures the ability to build meaningful connections and deliver tailored support.
Key Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) required
- Current certification as a school social worker
- Previous experience in school settings, especially with elementary-age students, preferred
- Understanding of best practices for supporting children with emotional/behavioral disabilities (ED)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with educators, administrators, students, and families
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide social, emotional, and behavioral support services to a small caseload of elementary students
- Develop and implement individualized support plans in coordination with education teams
- Foster positive relationships with students, helping them navigate challenges related to emotional/behavioral needs
- Serve as a resource for teachers and staff to promote a supportive educational environment
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in accordance with school and district policies
- Communicate regularly with families and external providers as appropriate
