The Lead Technician ensures high standards of safety and quality, enhances vehicle availability, and contributes to operational efficiency and customer satisfaction while maintaining a clean and safe work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Independently solve complex technical problems and proactively seek necessary information to resolve technical issues effectively.
  • Lead and ensure the workplace follows 5S principles: Sort, Set in Order, Clean, Standardize, and Sustain.
  • Independently and efficiently perform maintenance servicing and repairs on GSE and/or Commercial Trucks according to OEM specifications and company standards.
  • Ensure the safe and secure transport of all Ground Support Equipment (GSE) and Commercial Trucks.
  • Diagnose and repair advanced mechanical and electrical issues specific to a wide range of GSE and Commercial Trucks.
  • Utilize GSE and Commercial Truck manuals to look up necessary repair information.
  • Conduct comprehensive inspections, including checking vehicle hours, water, oil levels, lights, and overall condition to ensure compliance with safety and operational standards.
  • Consult and report to the Workshop Manager regarding any damages or tasks outside the prescribed scope to determine immediate actions.
  • Perform refurbishing tasks, including fabrication, body work, painting, welding, and upholstery, ensuring standards of quality and safety are met.
  • Participate actively in the company’s Occupational Health, Safety, and Environment (OHSE) protocols by reporting unsafe conditions and suggesting improvements.
  • Prioritize tasks effectively to maintain productivity and meet customer requirements.
  • Perform on-call responsibilities as required, ensuring timely response to urgent operational needs in accordance with the company’s on-call policy.

Essential Skills

  • Experience in preventive maintenance, hydraulics, diesel engine repair, and lead experience.
  • Supervisor or manager experience.
  • Proficiency in diesel engine, GSE, hydraulics, electrical systems, and auto/truck engine diagnosis.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Valid Driver’s License required; CDL preferred but not required.
  • Must provide personal hand tools; company supplies specialized tools and diagnostic equipment.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems, along with proficiency in using mobile devices and relevant applications.
  • A solid understanding of essential safety, quality, and operational protocols.
  • A growth-oriented mindset, collaborative team spirit, eagerness to learn, strong work ethic, and integrity.

Work Environment

Employees receive their work assignments via tablets and handle various tasks such as PMs, check engine lights, and repair brakes. Maintenance is performed bumper to bumper on mainly diesel trucks with a few gas engine trucks. Both 1st and 2nd shifts are available.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $81120.00 - $91520.00/yr.

They offer three different medical plans with UHC (1 HSA plan and two traditional plans), there is cost sharing as well, for Employee Only TCR covers 80% of the monthly premium, for EE+ 1 or EE + Family TCR covers 65%. Delta is through Delta Dental And Vision is through UHC It's a comprehensive benefits package including health, vision, and dental insurance, disability insurance, life insurance, a 401k plan, PTO, paid sickness leave, and the provision of all PPE. Also provides employees with long and short term disability and life insurance at no cost. Additional life insurance can also be purchased through Lincoln.
