Led by experts in drug development and individuals with ALS, we are driven by our mission to bring hope to those affected by this disease.About the RoleThe Community Events Social Media and Design Coordinator at the ALS Therapy Development Institute (ALS TDI) supports fundraising events and community engagement through social media, digital content, collateral design, and on-the-ground event support.This position manages ALS TDI's community events-focused social media presence, supports the organization's Instagram handles, and provides hands-on support for community fundraising, sponsorship tracking, merchandise fulfillment, and event design needs. They serve as a social media liaison between the Development and Marketing teams.This is an entry-level position, appropriate for a candidate with up to two years of relevant experience, who is eager to build a career at the intersection of nonprofit development and marketing.Key ResponsibilitiesManage ALSTDI_events handle on Instagram, including drafting posts, tagging, and monitoring and responding to comments.Create and manage ALSTDI_events Facebook page, including page traffic, post drafting, tagging, and community engagement.Support Marketing team drafting and managing Ales for ALS social media account.Work with the Marketing team to coordinate timing and content across the organization's social media calendar.Support the Development team in creating and maintaining RAISE fundraising pages for community fundraisers.Help maintain ALS TDI's overall social media content calendar.Coordinate and handle shipping of periodic merchandise requests from the ALS TDI office.Manage tracking of lab and plaque sponsorships, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records.Maintain, update, and organize the collection of community photos displayed at the ALS TDI office.Provide foundational design support using Canva, including social graphics and printed materials.Serve as a day-to-day liaison between the Development and Marketing teams to ensure aligned messaging and coordinated timelines for events and campaigns.Provide marketing and social media support for ALS TDI initiatives and large-scale community events, including content creation, campaign promotion, and real-time event coverage. QualificationsBachelor's degree from an accredited college or university preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.Entry level; up to 2 years of experience in social media, marketing/communications, events, or a related field preferred.Demonstrated excellence with Instagram and Facebook.Experience with Canva or similar design tools.Strong writing skills and an eye for engaging, on-brand social media content.Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.Comfort working with spreadsheets and tracking systems for sponsorship data.Commitment to and passion for ALS TDI's mission.Ability to commute to ALS TDI's Watertown, MA office as needed, at least weekly.What We OfferMeaningful, Mission-Driven Work: Play a vital role in the fight against ALS.
