Finance Controller – General Ledger & Reporting
Location: Concord, NH | Organization: NH Retirement System (NHRS)
Join a mission-driven organization serving public employees across New Hampshire! NHRS is seeking a Finance Manager to oversee our general ledger and financial reporting functions. Reporting to the Director of Finance, this leadership role ensures accurate and timely preparation of financial statements, manages audits, and supports budgeting and compliance activities in alignment with GASB and GAAP standards.
Key Responsibilities:

Manage all aspects of the general ledger, financial reporting, and audits

Lead preparation of the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR)

Supervise accounts payable/receivable and payroll processing

Collaborate with auditors, actuaries, and other key stakeholders

Oversee 1099R tax reporting and ensure compliance with federal requirements

Support strategic planning and process improvements as part of the management team
What We’re Looking For:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field

8+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, including 4+ in a leadership role

Expertise in GASB/GAAP, financial software, and audit preparation

Proven ability to lead teams and communicate effectively
