Advanced Heavy Equipment/Tractor Mechanic:
Location: Plaistow, NH
Employment Type: Full-Time
Pay: Competitive
Schedule: Monday-Friday 7:30am-5:30pm and Saturdays as needed
Position Summary: We are seeking an experienced and reliable Advanced Heavy Equipment/Tractor Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong diagnostic and repair skills with a variety of heavy equipment including tractors, excavators and related equipment.
Essential Functions:
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy equipment, including tractors, loaders, excavators, and hydraulic systems according to the work order or other approved repairs
- Troubleshoot complex mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
- Disassembles and assembles units under repair using a variety of hand and power tools according to accepted procedures
- Communicates with service writer regarding status of units under repair according to the work order or other approved repairs.
- Performs Safety and Operational checks on repaired units. Repairs items out of tolerance. Ensure all repairs comply with safety standards and manufacturer specifications.
Other Functions:
- May pull own stock as required using forklift or pallets jacks.
- Requisitions parts required for repairs and communicated to service writer as needed.
- Completes all required paperwork and time recording.
- Working Conditions: Interior service bay work involving lifting and moving objects with or without assistance. Work involves use of solvents, lubrications and engine fuel. Some noises from engines and tools. Some exterior stock retrieval and testing of units is required.

Requirements:
1. Education: High School or equivalent.
2. Valid driver’s license
3. Experience: 5+ years of experience as a heavy equipment or tractor mechanic.
4. Skills: Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, transmissions, and electrical systems. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
5. Specialized Knowledge, Licenses, etc.: Certification in Auto/ Diesel mechanics. ASE or other certification.
