Role Overview:
The Staff Accountant is a key player of our store support team responsible for supporting all accounting and operations team members in procuring and delivering automobile titles in our retail and wholesale operations. To include but not limited to processing all vehicle payoffs and equity checks for our clients, assisting with all auction and wholesale titles and appropriate paperwork. Scanning of all wholesale documents, checks, vehicle deals and assisting other CAO with overflow of scanning documents. This role requires attention to detail, positive and professional communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Initiate all vehicle lien payoffs across all locations
- Maintain a vehicle payoff log
- Retain all necessary payoff documentation via our documentation retention system
- Maintain an official Police Book
- Ensure the delivery of titles from all third parties including contacting them when necessary
- Accurately complete all wholesale and auction title transfer paperwork
- Record all wholesale vehicle transactions into our financial records system.
- Ensure delivery of all titles and legal documentation to our counter parties
- Processing of all wholesale and auction paperwork for clients and accounting department
- Retain all necessary deal and payoff documentation via our documentation retention system
- Scanning of all vehicle stock-in, payoffs, checks and deals into Web docs.
- Assist other accounting team members across their many store support functions.
- Assist wholesale manager and wholesale clerk with all other necessary duties
- Have excellent time management skills.
- Provide excellent internal and external relationship skills
- Ensure that department metrics and goals are met.
- Team-oriented with a desire to achieve both individual and collective goals.
Expectations and Performance Indicators for the year of 2025:
- Learn Dealertrack System
- Learn Vehicle Stock-in
- Perform Vehicle Payoff Process
- Perform Title Transfer Process
- Maintain Title Delay Log
Experience Requirements:
- No experience is required willing to train new candidates
- Minimum of 1 year of automotive EVR or title experience
- Dealertrack experience a plus
- 2 years of general automotive accounting and EVR experience is a plus.
- Computer and communication skills must be at an intermediate level.
- Employees must have excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Employee must be able to read, write, understand and speak English.
Training and Certifications required:
- Engage with PMG training platform(s) (i.e. Leadership training, Microsoft 365, etc.) (to be started upon hire).
- Work with any training the dealer group is currently utilizing (to be started upon hire).
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- EVR Certified. (must be able to pass Cori check and willing to become EVR certified)
- Notary Public (willing to be or already)
Physical Demands:
Employee must be able to sit for extended periods of time. Use their hands to handle control or feel objects, tools, or controls. Repeat the same movements for 7 hours a day at minimum. Must be able to get in and out of vehicles and travel. Occasionally need to lift boxes up to 30 lbs. Occasional bending, walking, and mobility will be necessary.
