About This Role

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Central and Northern New Hampshire, a dynamic organization supporting 200 staff across 30 Early Childhood and Out-of-School Time programs with a large geographic footprint, is seeking a part-time CDL bus driver to transport club members safely to and from field trips and club events. The bus driver will conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections, ensuring the bus is safe, organized, and clean. This is a part-time position from June through August, Tuesdays through Thursdays.



What You'll Do

  • Ensures the safe transportation of club members and staff by driving a 72-passenger bus or 15-passenger van to and from school(s) and special outings/field trips, adhering to driving rules and regulations.
  • Maintains a safe environment during travel by enforcing safety rules and maintaining good communication with the Boys & Girls Club administration.
  • Develops and maintains effective relationships with site/Branch directors by checking in daily about safety/behavioral concerns and adhering to organizational policies and procedures.
  • Conducts thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections, documenting findings in BGCCNNH vehicle logs, and fuels and re-fuels vehicles as needed, while also assisting with transporting vehicles for maintenance.
  • Maintains a clean and organized bus and van.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the organization.



Requirements

  • Must possess a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) OR CDL (Class B) license with Passenger and School Bus Endorsements, and air brake certification.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must possess Medical Examiner's Certificate and Medical Examiner's Card.
  • Must comply with DOT substance abuse regulations and testing requirements.
  • Must possess a safe driving record and submit a copy of such record to either the Operations Director or Human Resources department.
  • May be required to obtain CPR and First Aid Certifications.
  • Must have 3 years of driving experience (including personal or professional).
  • Occasional travel may be required due to meetings, training, or staff call-outs.
  • All of the bus drivers employed by the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central and Northern New Hampshire, holding a CDL driver's license, will have to submit to pre-employment drug and alcohol testing as well as random testing when selected per DOT regulations.


ADDITIONAL EXPECTATIONS:

  • All of the candidates that are offered a job with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central and Northern New Hampshire will have to submit for an FBI fingerprint background check and submit to a background check through the State of NH Criminal Records Dept. and FirstAdvantage. Note: The State of NH Childcare Licensing Bureau may prohibit you from being employed by the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central and Northern New Hampshire should there be a disqualifying finding on your criminal record. In addition, even if the State of NH reviews your records and allows you to work at the Club, we still reserve the right to determine your employment status.
  • This organization has a zero-tolerance policy for abuse and will not tolerate mistreatment or abuse in its programs. Any mistreatment or abuse by an employee will result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment and cooperation with law enforcement.
