CCSNH has established employer status within the New England states (Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Rhode Island). Scope of Work: Promotes high school registered apprenticeship and pre-apprenticeships for the Apprenticeship Building America (ABA) Grant in the North and East-Central Hubs, with responsibility for outreach to high schools, businesses, and appropriate community-based organizations and the development ofpre-apprenticeship to registered apprenticeship pathways within CCSNH’s o expand its High School Registered Apprenticeship program. This position reports to the Apprenticeship Building America Grant Manager.
Accountabilities:
- Works with the ABA Grant Manager and ApprenticeshipNH Team to expand the NH statewide registered apprenticeship infrastructure from high school to adult apprenticeship by developing new, formal partnerships with secondary education and CCSNH colleges to create a pipeline to registered apprenticeship opportunities for in-demand occupations across the northern, eastern, and central regions of NH.
- Coordinates with the ABA Grant Manager, the ApprenticeshipNH Team, businesses, and high schools to develop, implement and manage all program recruitment and development efforts (business and participants) to reach the ABA Grant outcomes and support all ApprenticeshipNH grant goals.
- Works to implement a high school pre-apprenticeship to apprenticeship outreach program for both apprentices and businesses and to integrate current apprenticeships into the high school pre-apprenticeship exploration model.
- Assists with the marketing of the high school pre-apprenticeship to apprenticeship outreach program to high schools, apprentices, and businesses.
- Works with high school partners, recruiting potential industry partners, to identify those businesses interested in participating in a pre-apprenticeship exploration program of their business that will lead to apprenticeship opportunities for the students in the pre-apprenticeship program.
- Plans and conducts information sessions at high schools, businesses, and community-based organizations to promote high school pre-apprenticeship to apprenticeship pathways to appropriate populations.
- Works closely with CCSNH college faculty, staff, Workforce Development Office staff, and ApprenticeshipNH team to effectively develop pre-apprenticeship to apprenticeship related instruction programs in conjunction with high schools and CCSNH colleges.
- Works closely with Dept. of Labor NH Office of Apprenticeship in developing high school registered apprenticeship Programs.
- Manages the collection of data and documents to submit necessary documentation promptly to complete all required or requested reports.
- Complies with all college, system, state and federal rules and regulations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree from a recognized college or university with major study in education, liberal arts, public or business administration, social sciences, or other related discipline. Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience.
Experience: Three years' experience as a teacher, academic/career advisor, employment/occupational trainer, and/or corporate/business trainer within the education, social services, or business sector, with responsibility for program development, implementation, and evaluation.
Desired Qualifications: Experience in working with employers, high school students, underrepresented populations (low income individuals, veterans, women, youth, individual with disabilities and refugees/English as a Second Language) and/or community-based organizations providing career coaching services. Knowledge of federal registered apprenticeship and/or grant experience.
License/Certification: Valid driver's license, or access to transportation for statewide travel.
