We are expanding our accounting team and seeking a Tax Relationship Specialist, a unique role for someone who excels in tax preparation and enjoys guiding clients toward additional services that can benefit their full financial picture.


Role Overview

This role is a 70/30 split between hands-on tax preparation and proactive client engagement. During tax season, youll be immersed in preparing accurate and timely returns. Year-round, youll play a key role in identifying tax clients who would benefit from additional family office servicesand facilitating warm handoffs to our estate/legacy and financial planning teams.


Key Responsibilities

Tax Preparation & Compliance (70%)

  • Prepare individual, trust, and small business tax returns with accuracy and timeliness
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations
  • Stay current on tax code updates and planning opportunities
  • Maintain an active and compliant PTIN
  • Deliver tax planning insights to clients as needed

Client Growth & Referral Engagement (30%)

  • Identify and educate tax clients about the benefits of our financial planning and estate/legacy services
  • Facilitate smooth handoffs to the appropriate departments
  • Track first appointments and support follow-through to ensure client satisfaction
  • Collaborate with internal teams to align client goals with service offerings
  • Represent the tax team in cross-department collaboration and growth initiatives


Qualifications

  • Active PTIN and 3+ years of tax preparation experience required
  • EA or CPA preferred, but not mandatory
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex topics clearly
  • Relationship-minded with a natural curiosity about client goals and needs
  • Experience or exposure to financial planning or estate services is a plus
  • Collaborative mindset and team-player attitude

  • Base Salary: $80,000 - $90,000
