POSITION SUMMARY\n
MCJ Transportation is looking for a reliable, organized, and friendly Part-Time Receptionist & Office Assistant to help keep the office running smoothly on a day-to-day basis.
\n
This is a hands-on position. The ideal person is someone who takes pride in keeping the office clean, organized, stocked, and functioning properly. The position includes basic receptionist duties, answering phones, scheduling, scanning and filing documents, maintaining office equipment, ordering supplies, handling mail, and assisting with other general office needs.
\n
There may also be an opportunity to walk the office dogs if the employee is comfortable and interested in doing so.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESReception & Telephone\n

- Answer and direct incoming telephone calls in a professional and friendly manner.
- Take messages and relay information to the appropriate staff member.
- Greet visitors and provide basic assistance when needed.
- Respond to basic questions and direct customers, drivers, and vendors to the appropriate person.

Office Organization & Cleanliness\n

- Keep the reception area, office, kitchen/break area, and common areas neat and organized.
- Help maintain a clean and professional office environment.
- Empty small office trash bins and coordinate larger trash needs as necessary.
- Make sure common areas remain stocked and presentable.
- Notify management when something in the office needs repair or attention.

Office Equipment\n

- Make sure the copier/printer is operational and ready for use.
- Keep copier and printer paper stocked.
- Replace toner and other basic office supplies when needed.
- Scan, copy, print, fax, and organize documents.
- Report equipment problems and coordinate service when necessary.

Scheduling & Administrative Support\n

- Assist with scheduling appointments, meetings, and other office activities.
- Maintain calendars and communicate schedule changes.
- Assist with basic data entry and filing.
- Organize paperwork and maintain orderly office files.
- Help prepare documents and paperwork as requested.

Office Supplies\n

- Monitor inventory of office supplies.
- Order paper, toner, pens, cleaning supplies, and other necessary office items.
- Make sure the office does not run out of commonly used supplies.
- Receive and organize deliveries and supplies.

Mail & Deliveries\n

- Retrieve the company's mail on a regular basis.
- Sort and distribute incoming mail.
- Prepare outgoing mail and packages.
- Receive deliveries and notify the appropriate employee.

General Office Assistance\n

- Assist management and office staff with miscellaneous administrative tasks.
- Make copies, scan documents, organize paperwork, and perform other basic office duties as needed.
- Help keep the office operating efficiently and professionally.
- Perform other reasonable duties as assigned.

Optional Dog Walking\n
If the employee is comfortable with dogs and would like to do so, they may assist with walking the office dogs during appropriate times.
\n
Dog walking is optional and is not required as a condition of employment unless specifically agreed upon by the employee and company.
