We are currently recruiting for a part-time Software Application Developer / Programmer to assist the Northeast Fisheries’ Science Center’s (NEFSC) Cooperative Research Branch (CRB). The CRB conducts a bottom longline survey (BLLS) in the western and central Gulf of Maine to assess the abundance, distribution, and diversity of fish and invertebrates in complex rocky habitat that is inaccessible to other surveys. The coincident bottom longline and bottom trawl survey approach is intended to enable use in stock assessments and comparison of species diversity and abundance estimates between the two different survey methodologies. The bottom longline survey has provided the data necessary to assess the abundance and diversity of fish and invertebrates in rocky habitats in the Gulf of Maine, compare differences in catchability between rocky and smooth bottom types, and enhance the sampling of several data poor species, including Atlantic wolffish and cusk. The data are also used in numerous fisheries stock assessments. The survey team collaborates with internal and external researchers to integrate additional research components into the survey for species of interest. Such supplementary research may include but is not limited to shark tagging, barotrauma severity assessment, the effects of bait type on catch rates and composition, ocean currents and tide velocity, life history studies, and habitat type.
This will be a full-time position. Work will be performed on-site at a Northeast Fisheries Science Center, or remotely in coordination with the COR and Project Lead. The contract has a one-year base period and will have up to three (3) 12-month option periods. 
Duties:

<li>Will work closely with staff from NOAA NEFSC Cooperative Research Branch (CRB) to design, build, and maintain applications that support cooperative research efforts.</li>
<li>Design, develop, and maintain web-based applications with flexible architecture and use of Application Programming Interfaces (API) to better facilitate system-level integration</li>
<li>Maintain existing systems throughout their lifecycle, which includes decommissioning applications whose functions are incorporated by new applications or are no longer needed.</li>
<li>Support application development through integrated project work group meetings, data modeling, code reviews, and system reviews for quality and performance </li>
<li>Analyze project information requirements to research and suggest emerging technologies and how they can address future development needs </li>
<li>Define and refine user requirements </li>
<li>Implement and integrate security standards set by the NOAA/NMFS/ Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) and implemented by NEFSC's Information Technology Division. </li>

Minimum Qualifications:

</ul>
Job Summary: &nbsp; The Press Brake Operator II must be an individual who can adapt to a fast paced, Sheetmetal shop environment focusing on on-time delivery of parts. This person must have a strong work ethic, be willing to learn and ask questions about manufacturing processes. They will be responsible for setting up and operating the press brake under minimal supervision, while also forming parts. This person must be able to efficiently produce high quality parts. Essential Functions:
<ul>
<li>Operate Press Brake safely with minimal assistance</li>
<li>Set up machine with proper tooling required to produce products</li>
<li>Ability to check parts to print (angles and measurements)</li>
<li>Adjust machine as necessary to produce parts to print</li>
<li>Ability to Set up machine to be able to produce hems and offset bends</li>
<li>Form parts with multiple bends (6+)</li>
<li>Handle parts with care to avoid damage</li>
<li>Other duties as assigned</li>
</ul>
Qualifications:
<ul>
<li>Ability to read and understand blueprints</li>
<li>Basic knowledge on angles and measurements</li>
<li>Basic shop math</li>
<li>Ability to use basic inspection equipment height gage, calipers, pins, and protractors</li>
</ul>
Education and Professional Experience:
<ul>
<li>High School diploma or GED required</li>
<li>Experience in prototyping is a plus</li>
<li>2-3 years’ experience forming/manufacturing required</li>
</ul>

Job Description
Job Summary: We are seeking a CNC Machinist Level 2 to join a manufacturing company in Hopkinton, NH. In this role, you will utilize intermediate machining techniques to produce accurate, high-quality parts. The position requires proficiency in CNC principles, procedures, and setups. You will work on a variety of CNC machinery, including 3-axis, 5-axis, and lathes, while demonstrating problem-solving abilities and a willingness to further develop your skills.
Location: Hopkinton, NH Schedule:
<ul>
<li>1st Shift: 5 – 8-hour shifts</li>
<li>2nd Shift: 4 – 10-hour shifts</li>
<li>Overtime as necessary</li>
<li>Flexible scheduling in agreement with the supervisor</li>
</ul>
Pay Rate: $25.00 - $36.00/hr
Essential Functions:
<ul>
<li>Perform intermediate to complex machining and programming activities based on company capabilities.</li>
<li>Provide technical advice and solutions for less experienced machinists.</li>
<li>Modify existing programs to improve efficiency.</li>
<li>Setup high-end jobs on 3-axis, 5-axis, and/or lathes.</li>
<li>Identify opportunities for process improvement.</li>
<li>Check parts for accuracy according to prints and models using various inspection techniques.</li>
<li>Design basic fixtures for machining parts.</li>
<li>Wear proper PPE for all job functions.</li>
<li>Assist with cleaning and preventative maintenance of machines, tools, and workstations.</li>
<li>Perform other duties as assigned.</li>
</ul>
Requirements:
<ul>
<li>Mastery of all Machinist I knowledge, skills, and abilities.</li>
<li>Proficient in WinMax and/or Mastercam programming software.</li>
<li>Strong understanding of G-code.</li>
<li>Proficient in SolidWorks modeling software.</li>
<li>Experience with 3-axis, 5-axis, and lathe machining.</li>
<li>Knowledge of complex fixturing techniques.</li>
<li>Experience with high-tolerance machining and geometric dimensioning.</li>
<li>Strong understanding of shop mechanics, mathematics, and measurement.</li>
<li>Experience working with multiple types of materials.</li>
</ul>
Education &amp; Professional Experience:
<ul>
<li>Degree in Machine Tool, Manufacturing Technology, or a related field is preferred.</li>
<li>A minimum of 3 years of CNC programming and/or machining experience is required.</li>
<li>High school diploma or GED is required.</li>
</ul>
