Vermont Smoke & Cure is currently searching for a Formulation / Raw Meat Machine Operator to enhance our team. Details:

  • Location: This job is on site at our facility in Hinesburg, VT
  • Shift: Monday– Thursday 6AM – 4:30PM
  • Hourly Rate: Starting at $21.29/hour

Job Summary:

As a Formulation Operator, you will collaborate within a team to carry out processes within the assigned department. Your responsibilities include operating specialized machinery and following department-specific protocols meticulously to ensure the production of high-quality products with minimal waste. You will take direction from the Department Lead/Production Supervisor, adhere to safety protocols, and actively contribute ideas for process improvement.


Responsibilities:

  • Ingredient Preparation: Weighing, measuring, and preparing ingredients according to established formulations.
  • Equipment Operation: Operating machinery and equipment involved in the formulation process, ensuring accurate and efficient production.
  • Quality Control: Monitoring and maintaining product quality by following strict protocols and standards.
  • Safety Compliance: Learn and follow safety regulations and guidelines to ensure a secure working environment.
  • Process Improvement: Contributing ideas for process optimization and efficiency enhancement.
  • Team Collaboration: Working collaboratively within a team, often under the direction of a supervisor or lead.

Physical Demands:

  • Regularly required to sit, bend, stretch, stand or walk for prolonged periods of time
  • Regularly bend and lift up to 30-75 lbs. repeatedly
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination
  • Regularly required to talk and hear
  • Regularly required to visually observe objects up close and at a distance
  • Regularly requires hands to handle or feel and finger dexterity
  • Ability to work in 38&degree; Fahrenheit temperature and wet environment
  • Ability to frequently kneel, squat, and stoop, twist, and reach overhead with repetitive motions.
  • Regularly required to move heavy racking on rollers containing upwards of 1,000 pounds of product out of warm ovens, on and off scales and into cold chillers

  • Ability to visually discern quality and cleanliness and follow food/workplace safety requirements

Working Conditions:

  • Work is primarily performed in a manufacturing plant
  • English is the primary language; training materials are written in English. For individuals who do not speak English as their primary language, translation will be provided.


Requirements:

Job Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience working in a production environment, ideally with food or involving mechanical equipment is preferred
