We are a growing electrical contractor based in Woburn, MA, serving general contractors, facility managers, property managers, institutional clients, and select residential/industrial projects. We take pride in delivering high-quality workmanship, strong communication, and exceptional customer service. As we continue to expand, we are seeking a skilled and motivated Electrical Estimator to join our team.

Position Overview

The Electrical Estimator plays a critical role in securing profitable projects and ensuring accurate, competitive bids. This role involves analyzing RFQs, reviewing plans and specifications, conducting site walks, preparing estimates, coordinating with operations, and supporting proposal development. You’ll work closely with our project managers, foremen, and field electricians to ensure smooth handoffs and a strong customer experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Review drawings, specifications, and scope documents for commercial electrical projects.
• Perform accurate take-offs for labor, materials, and subcontractor scopes.
• Conduct job walks to gather field information and validate project requirements.
• Develop detailed proposals—including clarifications, value options, alternates, and exclusions.
• Collaborate with operations and project management to ensure accurate project turnover.
• Track estimates, bids, and forecasting updates within the CRM system.
• Maintain strong relationships with GCs, facility managers, property managers, industrial clients, and vendors.
• Participate in internal review meetings and contribute to continuous improvement of estimating processes.
• Manage, closely with Foreman, project implementation for some of the projects estimated.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 2+ years of estimating experience in the electrical, construction, or MEP trades.
• Strong understanding of electrical scopes, labor units, and how commercial projects are bid.
• Clear and confident communication skills—written, verbal, and customer-facing.
• Ability to manage multiple bids simultaneously and meet deadlines.
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical and organizational skills.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to visit job sites locally.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience estimating for commercial clients, GCs, or facilities teams.
• Familiarity with proposal development, breakdowns, and contract award workflows.
• Knowledge of local codes, permitting practices, and vendor pricing structures.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to walk job sites and attend site meetings.
• Ability to lift up to 20 lbs (plans, samples, documents).
• Prolonged computer use for take-offs, estimating software, and proposal preparation.

Performance Expectations

• Prepare accurate and complete estimates delivered on schedule.
• Maintain CRM compliance with updated bid status and pipeline.
• Support a sustainable company win-rate through well-qualified, competitive proposals.
• Provide timely responses to project inquiries and customer communication.
