Job Description
The Packager plays a key role in labeling, assembling, and packaging pharmaceutical products in a highly regulated manufacturing environment. This position supports safe and accurate manual and automated filling of blistered and bottled products while maintaining strict quality, productivity, and documentation standards. You will work on a 1st shift schedule, Tuesday through Friday from 5:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and follow established procedures to ensure products are packaged correctly and in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices.
Responsibilities
- Label, assemble, and package pharmaceutical products according to established procedures and quality standards.
- Perform manual and automated filling and packaging of blistered and bottled pharmaceutical products.
- Accurately count and prepare packaging components before, during, and after job orders to ensure proper accountability.
- Review and follow batch paperwork to ensure correct assembly and packaging of clinical supplies.
- Meet defined quality and productivity requirements while maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
- Clean packaging rooms, equipment, and machinery in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures and current Good Manufacturing Practices.
- Apply Good Manufacturing Principles in all tasks, ensuring work is performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with regulations.
- Use basic computer systems to support production, documentation, and tracking of work activities.
- Perform repetitive tasks with consistency and accuracy while maintaining focus and adherence to procedures.
- Collaborate with supervisors and team members to learn new tasks and processes, seeking guidance when needed.
- Work independently or as part of a team to complete assigned tasks, including periods without constant supervision.
- Follow all safety guidelines, including proper use of personal protective equipment, and maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Support production needs by working a full-time schedule and participating in additional shift or weekend overtime when required.
Essential Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- At least 1 year of experience in a production, packaging, or general labor environment.
- Basic computer skills to support production and documentation activities.
- Strong hand-eye coordination, manual and finger dexterity to perform detailed packaging tasks.
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks accurately while maintaining attention to detail.
- Capability to meet physical requirements, including standing, lifting, bending, and other physical movements throughout the shift.
- Ability to meet vision requirements, including color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Personal Protective Equipment certification, including the use of filtering face masks, powered air-purifying respirators, N-95 masks, half face masks, and safety glasses.
- Ability and willingness to work in cold environments at temperatures of approximately -8°ree;C and -20°ree;C.
- Willingness to work 40 hours per week with additional shift and weekend overtime when required.
- Accurate counting skills and the ability to understand and follow batch paperwork.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, including times without constant supervision.
- Commitment to following Good Manufacturing Practices and Standard Operating Procedures in all work activities.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in packaging, production, or general labor environments is beneficial.
- Prior exposure to pharmaceutical or regulated manufacturing settings is an advantage.
- Comfort working with automated and manual packaging equipment.
- Ability to learn new tasks and processes with guidance from supervisors and colleagues.
- Strong sense of responsibility for product quality, accuracy, and documentation.
- Reliability and consistency in attendance and punctuality to support production schedules.

Work Environment
This role is based in a pharmaceutical production and packaging facility operating on a 1st shift schedule from Tuesday through Friday, 5:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The work involves standing, lifting, bending, and performing repetitive tasks for extended periods. You must meet specific vision requirements, including color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus, to safely and accurately handle products and components. The environment includes cold storage or processing areas with temperatures around -8°ree;C and -20°ree;C, and you must be comfortable working in these conditions. Personal Protective Equipment is a standard part of the role, and you will regularly use items such as filtering face masks, powered air-purifying respirators, N-95 masks, half face masks, and safety glasses in accordance with safety and compliance requirements. The position requires a 40-hour workweek, with the flexibility to support additional shift and weekend overtime when production demands increase. The facility operates under strict Good Manufacturing Practices and Standard Operating Procedures, emphasizing cleanliness, organization, and adherence to safety and quality standards.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $19.00/hr.
