Position Overview
The Building Maintenance Foreman is responsible for overseeing the maintenance operations of multi-family properties. This role includes managing a team of maintenance staff, ensuring the upkeep and repair of facilities, working with subcontractors on renovation or add-on construction projects, and coordinating with property management to enhance tenant satisfaction and maintain property value.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate maintenance staff and activities.
- Conduct regular inspections of properties to identify maintenance needs and ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Develop and implement maintenance schedules to minimize disruptions and maintain optimal property conditions.
- Manage repair and maintenance projects, ensuring timely completion within budget constraints.
- Collaborate with property management to address tenant concerns and maintain high standards of property upkeep.
- Oversee the inventory and purchasing of maintenance supplies and equipment.
- Ensure effective communication among team members and with other departments to foster a collaborative work environment.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in facilities or property management, preferably in a commercial setting.
- Strong knowledge of building maintenance and repair processes.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices in maintenance operations.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to work flexible hours and respond to emergency maintenance requests as needed.
Compensation: $25 - $32/hr
