Location: Fall River, MA
Schedule: Full-Time | Onsite (5 days per week)

A well-established and growing real estate development and property management organization in Southeastern Massachusetts is seeking a Property Accountant to join its accounting team.

The company manages a diverse portfolio of retail, commercial, residential, and hospitality properties and offers a stable, team-oriented environment with strong long-term growth potential.

This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional looking to gain hands-on experience in full-cycle property accounting across a dynamic portfolio while advancing their career in real estate finance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage full-cycle accounting for approximately 10 mixed-use retail and office properties
  • Perform month-end and year-end close processes
  • Prepare and review financial statements
  • Ensure timely and accurate payment of mortgages, property taxes, insurance, and utilities
  • Prepare CAM (Common Area Maintenance) reconciliations and billings
  • Process water billings and percentage rent calculations
  • Support additional accounting initiatives and cross-functional projects as needed

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 1–3 years of accounting experience required (property accounting experience preferred)
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and general ledger fundamentals (accruals, prepaids, reconciliations)
  • Experience with M3, Sage, or similar ERP/accounting systems preferred
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively
