Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A Special Education Teacher position is available for the 2023-2024 school year in Claremont, NH, within a K-12 school setting. This contract role offers an opportunity to support students with disabilities through virtual case management and instruction aligned with New Hampshire state requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Write, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) using the NHSEIS data system.
- Collaborate virtually with teachers, parents, and service providers via platforms such as Canvas, Zoom, and district-specific systems.
- Utilize data and behavior-tracking tools, including Panorama or internal systems, to monitor and support student progress.
- Apply federal, state, and local special education laws and regulations, with knowledge of how virtual delivery impacts compliance.
- Provide positive behavioral support tailored to individual and group needs, assessing and addressing behavioral and affective disorders.
- Conduct observations and prepare detailed reports regarding student learning and behavior.
- Work collaboratively with administrators, colleagues, central office staff, students, parents, and community members to ensure comprehensive support.
Qualifications:
- Must hold all required New Hampshire state certifications in special education.
- Prior experience as a New Hampshire virtual case manager or special education teacher is essential.
- Strong understanding of special education principles and best practices.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to establish positive interpersonal relationships and work effectively in a virtual environment.
Location & Schedule:
- Claremont, NH
- Up to 37.5 hours per week
- Contract duration: ASAP to June 12, 2026 (tentative)
