Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Lawn Care & Fertilization Specialist to join our growing team. This role is responsible for delivering high-quality lawn fertilization and pest control services while providing knowledgeable, professional customer interactions. The ideal candidate carries a valid pesticide license, has a strong understanding of turfgrass types, weeds, and lawn diseases, takes pride in their work, and can independently manage a daily service route with attention to detail and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and understand common cool-season turfgrass types, weeds, insects, and lawn diseases
- Properly mix and apply fertilizers, herbicides, insecticides, and other lawn treatments in accordance with label directions and state regulations
- Accurately diagnose lawn issues and make recommendations to customers or management when problems or opportunities are identified
- Communicate professionally with customers regarding services performed, expectations, and follow-up needs
- Complete assigned daily routes efficiently and on schedule
- Maintain accurate service records and notes through company software or service tickets
- Keep company vehicle, equipment, and tools clean, organized, and well-maintained
- Follow all safety procedures, PPE requirements, and environmental best practices
- Report equipment issues, property concerns, or customer feedback promptly
- Represent the company professionally at all times while on customer properties
Qualifications
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Ability to pass a DOT physical and maintain DOT medical certification
- Knowledge of turfgrass types, weeds, insects, and lawn diseases preferred
- Experience applying fertilizers, herbicides, and pesticides preferred (training available for the right candidate)
- Ability to follow state and federal pesticide regulations and label instructions
- Strong communication skills and ability to interact professionally with customers
- Ability to work independently and manage a daily service route
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Physically able to lift equipment, walk properties, and perform repetitive tasks
- Reliable, detail-oriented, and takes pride in clean, professional work
Schedule is Monday-Friday 7am - 4pm with the occasional need to work as late as 5pm. Saturdays are only mandatory if we lose a day to rain during the week and need to make up the day. Employees typically work 40-45hrs per week with the option for additional overtime on most weekends.
