Function of the Role:
The Stockroom Attendant, plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation of our inventory management system. This position is responsible for receiving, organizing, and distributing stock items to various departments, thereby supporting the overall productivity of the business. The Stockroom Attendant will maintain accurate inventory records and assist in conducting regular stock audits to prevent discrepancies. By ensuring that stock levels are maintained and that items are easily accessible, this role directly contributes to the smooth functioning of daily operations. Ultimately, the Stockroom Attendant helps to create a well-organized and efficient work environment that supports the company's goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive and inspect incoming stock items for quality and accuracy.
- Organize and store stock items in designated areas to maximize space and accessibility.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and update stock levels in the inventory management system.
- Assist in conducting regular stock audits and report discrepancies to management.
- Prepare and distribute stock items to various departments as requested.
Qualification Requirements:
- Visual acuity to interact with computer terminals, design prints and written instructions.
- Tolerance to eye and upper/lower body stress associated with extended periods standing/walking.
- Mobility to climb step ladders and equipment.
- Periodic lifting of up to 35 lbs. (e.g., machine parts).
- Routine machine shop environment on ground floor.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a stockroom or warehouse environment.
- Attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills for collaborating with team members and responding to requests from various departments.
- Preferred skills: familiarity with inventory management software, having forklift certification can facilitate the safe and efficient movement of larger stock items within the warehouse.
