Company Description Burlington Animal Clinic is a small animal veterinary practice located on Cambridge Street in Burlington, MA. The clinic primarily treats dogs and cats, but also provides care for small exotic pets such as hamsters, guinea pigs, rabbits, ferrets, and birds. The practice is equipped with onsite digital radiography and offers a range of surgical and dental procedures to support comprehensive patient care.

We offer 1/2 hour appointments, so that there is adequate time to communicate with clients and perform examinations. Our current staff:doctor ratio is 7 or 8 to 1. Role Description The Associate Veterinarian will provide high-quality medical, surgical, and dental care to small animals in a collaborative clinical setting. Daily responsibilities include performing physical examinations, diagnosing and treating illnesses, developing treatment plans, interpreting diagnostic imaging, and communicating clearly with clients about their pets’ health and preventive care. Surgery is optional; if a candidate is interested, they could do surgery and dental procedures on one day every week. If not, it is not a requirement.

Qualifications

- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM or equivalent) degree and current, or eligibility for, veterinary licensure in the state of Massachusetts.
- Clinical skills in small animal medicine, including experience with dogs and cats; treatment of small exotics would be nice, but is not required. It is currently a very small part of our practice.
- Ability to interpret diagnostics, including digital radiography, laboratory results, and physical examination findings.
- Strong client communication skills, with the ability to explain diagnoses, treatment options, and preventive care in a clear, empathetic manner. Our clients are overall very nice and we often have multiple generations in a family that come here for care. We strive to explain things well and offer options for treatments.
- Collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively with veterinary technicians and support staff in a fast-paced clinical environment. We are currently about 1/2 experienced staff and 1/2 staff that are new to the field. We do have 2 CVT's on staff.
- Commitment to high standards of patient care, safety, and medical ethics, including attention to detail in medical record keeping.
- Unfortunately, we are unable to mentor new grads at this time.
