Job Title: Journeyman Sheet Metal Mechanic Exempt or Non-Exempt
This position provides ductwork installations at job sites under the direct report of the field foreman. Critical responsibilities include effective communication with co-workers, project foreman and other contractors/sub-contractors on-site; adherence to safety procedures; quality production & cost control; and other duties as necessary to facilitate the completion of assigned jobs in a timely manner.
Pay Range: $25.00 - $35.00/hour along with a comprehensive benefits package
Experience/Certifications Required:
· 1+ year experience in the field working on commercial HVAC Projects
· 10-hour OSHA card
· NH Gas Fitter’s License (we can help you apply for this if you don’t have it)
· Ability to read and understand Blueprints and specifications
· Ability to read and understand product and equipment submittals
· Knowledge and understanding of Mechanical, Plumbing, Gas, ADA and Energy codes
Work Environment: Noise, dust, welding flash, temperature variations and difficult-to-access areas are a part of some job sites. When necessary, protective gear is required.
Work Hours: Monday – Friday 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Key Duties:
· Responsible for the daily mechanical installations and ensuring that you have the information and materials you need to perform your duties efficiently and correctly.
o ALL installations are per the project plans, specifications, and local/state codes
o ALL installations are per submittals & manufacturer’s installation instructions.
o ALL installations meet E&J standard of quality.
· Ensuring you request equipment, materials and tools before you need them.
o Making sure daily materials and tool requests are given to your foreman by noon time.
o Making sure you are planning and looking ahead and your materials and tool requests are 2 days ahead of when you need them.
· Establish and maintain a positive relationship with co-workers, clients and on-site contractors/subcontractors.
· Ensure maintenance and security of project documents, equipment, tools and materials.
o Help maintain an accurate list of tools assigned to the project.
o Take responsibility for using tools and equipment correctly and making sure they organized and locked up at the end of the day.
· Maintain an accurate record of your time.
· Taking personal responsibility and pride in your work ethic and workmanship.
