Director of the Harvard South Shore Psychiatry Program

Brockton, MA

We are on the lookout for candidates who possess a robust background in academic excellence and leadership within graduate medical education to oversee our Psychiatry training program and manage psychiatry training in collaboration with our partner programs. The Harvard South Shore Psychiatry Program is a sizable residency program (32 residents) accredited by ACGME, affiliated with the Department of Psychiatry at VA/Harvard Medical School. It offers a vibrant clinical setting and exceptional faculty committed to both clinical research and education. We welcome applications for the roles of Assistant or Associate Program Director, depending on the candidate's experience. There is potential for the Associate Program Director to advance to the position of Residency Training Director.

As the leading referral center for Veterans' healthcare in New England, our organization maintains strong academic partnerships with Harvard Medical School and the Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine. We are recognized as a top-tier teaching hospital and frequently listed among the Best Places to Work by the Boston Globe. Experience immense personal and professional fulfillment while contributing to the mission of serving our Nation's Veterans.

The ideal candidate will have a balanced background in direct clinical care, along with experience in teaching and supervising psychiatry residents and medical students. Appointments as Instructor, Assistant, or Associate Professor will be based on the candidate's experience, training, and accomplishments. This role offers a highly competitive salary, an extensive leave and benefits package, and eligibility for up to $200,000 in Educational Debt Reduction, along with a Recruitment/Relocation Incentive.

Requirements: Candidates should possess a minimum of three years of significant administrative and leadership experience in Graduate Medical Education, along with strong interpersonal, clinical, and leadership abilities. Those applying for Assistant or Associate Program Director roles will be considered if their experience does not meet the criteria for a Program Director position. Board Certification in General Psychiatry, qualifications for an academic appointment at HMS, a dedication to serving Veterans, strong clinical teaching and supervisory skills, and a willingness to collaborate within an outstanding interprofessional team are essential. The successful applicant must be a US Citizen.

Our organization and Harvard University are committed to equal opportunity employment. All qualified applicants will be considered for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status, pregnancy and pregnancy-related conditions, or any other characteristic protected by law. We encourage women and minority candidates to apply.
