Seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and personable Medical Secretary to join our busy Primary Care clinic. This role plays a crucial part in supporting day-to-day administrative operations and ensuring smooth patient flow and satisfaction. The ideal candidate will be proactive, comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, and capable of handling multiple administrative responsibilities with efficiency and professionalism.Key Responsibilities:
Schedule and coordinate patient appointments, follow-ups, and referrals in a timely and accurate manner.
Answer and manage a high volume of phone calls, addressing patient inquiries, directing calls appropriately, and providing excellent customer service.
Perform insurance verifications and eligibility checks prior to patient visits to ensure proper coverage and minimize billing issues.
Process prior authorizations for medications, procedures, or referrals as required by insurance providers.
Maintain and update electronic medical records (EMR) accurately and confidentially.
Collaborate with medical staff to ensure a seamless patient experience and proper documentation.
Support front-desk operations, including patient check-in/check-out and collecting co-pays as needed.
Help identify and resolve scheduling conflicts and ensure provider calendars are optimized for efficiency.Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Previous experience in a medical office or primary care setting strongly preferred.
Familiarity with insurance processes, including prior authorizations and verifications.
Proficient in EMR systems and general computer skills.
Excellent communication, multitasking, and customer service skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all patient interactions
