Job Description

Job DescriptionSalary: $65,000 minimum DOE

Essential Functions:

  1. Coordinates employee activities and material movement to meet production schedule for shift;
  2. Ensures communication/information flow between departments and shifts maintained and effective;
  3. Provides on the job training of employees as needed;
  4. See, reads, and follows work instructions, safety procedures, and completes various forms and reports;
  5. Works with key individuals to ensure compliance to Quality standards and ISO procedures;
  6. Assists in maintaining accurate inventories, administrative tasks, and reporting accurate/timely;
  7. Provides back up to supervisor as needed;
  8. Assists in development of employee goals and provides input on performance evaluations;
  9. Assists employees with tasks and breaks as needed;
  10. Works with co-workers in a safe, professional, and cooperative manner;
  11. Maintains good attendance, flexibility in job assignments, adaptable to changing business needs, and continually learns and applies new skills;
  12. Follows all company policies, procedures and ensures employees do the same.
  13. Meets minimum physical/mental requirements with or without reasonable accommodation;
  14. Other duties as assigned.


General Duties / Responsibilities/Mental Demands:

Operate Equipment: Able to operate all equipment in area of responsibility which operators in that department are required to use and maintain.

Administrative: See, read, and follow work instructions; guide, follow, and direct

operators in the use of and compliance to policies/procedures and

paperwork required for departmentsuch as work instructions,

DVQRs, Pareto charts, blue print reading, labels, ISO procedures,

labor tickets, time cards, BOM, and other department specific

general forms; ensure inventory accuracy and procedures followed.

Quality: Collect data, use quality tools and methods, coordinate with

auditors/engineers; participate in the problem solving process; assist

operators as required; follow and ensure operator compliance to ISO and quality procedures.

Productivity: Production floor coordination via: assign manning; maintain and

coordinate product flow (material movement); coordinate/ensure

fixture/work station set up as appropriate for department; ensure

employee tools available and in good repair; meet production

schedule and execute plan; identify variance issues.

Health/Safety: Follow all safety policies, guidelines and training given; identify risks;

ensure PPE used; support plant safety programs/initiatives;

team/project participation; primary response to coordinating

solutions/addressing issues; support return to work; assist with

accident reports; ensure all accidents/injuries/near misses are

reported immediately; maintain good personal hygiene.

Teamwork/Flexibility: Foster and develop communications between shifts/departments;

build relationships with key partners in organization; team building

between operators, shifts, and departments; follow key principles;

motivate employees; diffuse employee issues via gathering

information and direct employees to sources/directions on

addressing issues; coach and support employees through change

and company initiatives; available for OT.

Set Up: Assist in area/workstation/workbench set up as needed; help find

efficient and effective methods.

Other: Contain and pass on employee issues to supervisor/manager via

recognizing the severity and direct to management accordingly;

participate in decision making via gathering and presenting facts;

provide input on employee evaluations; provide OJT and specific

instruction / training to operators as needed/required; set the

example for performance and promote a positive work environment.


Pre-Requisites/Minimum Qualifications:

One-year certificate from college or technical school; previous similar experience; previous or demonstrated proficiency at assembly or similar manufacturing work; demonstrated leadership and organizational skills and effective/supportive communication; must be self-motivated and able to train and motivate others.
