The YMCA of Concord is seeking an experienced Fitness Manager to lead and grow our fitness and wellness programs. If you're a dedicated fitness professional with strong leadership skills, this is a rewarding opportunity to inspire healthier lives and make a lasting impact in your community.
As the Fitness Manager, you’ll oversee our health, fitness, and wellness programs, manage a team of certified personal trainers, support the Group Exercise programs and staff, while ensure an exceptional member experience in a supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead daily operations of the Fitness, Health & Wellness Department
- Manage personal training staff, clients, and program development
- Serve as a Personal Trainer and Wellness Coach as needed
- Support Group Exercise programs and staff members
- Mentor and develop a high-performing fitness team
- Promote member engagement and retention through excellent service
- Design innovative training programs tailored to community needs
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting
- Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming fitness facility
- Support YMCA community events and health initiatives
- Oversee scheduling, supply inventory, and equipment upkeep
Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree or higher in a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Certified Personal Trainer (NASM, ACE, ACSM, or similar nationally recognized certification)
- Minimum 2 years' experience in personal training, group exercise, or wellness coaching
- Proven leadership and staff supervision experience
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and fitness software
- A strong passion for health, fitness, and community engagement
