Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

This opportunity is based at an alternative learning environment serving students with moderate behavioral needs, who are referred from their local districts. Every classroom maintains a team teaching model, ensuring two qualified educators are present at all times to foster both academic and behavioral growth.
An earlier start is available for those interested in Extended School Year (ESY) programming, with sessions commencing July 6th. This contract assignment offers a dynamic and collaborative atmosphere, welcoming both general education and special education certified teachers—though direct SPED experience is strongly preferred.
Ideal Qualifications:
- Active teaching certification in General Education or Special Education
- Previous experience working with students who have special needs, particularly those with behavioral challenges
- Background in teaching math and/or science at the high school level
- Ability to create a positive, structured, and engaging classroom environment
- Team-oriented mindset and strong communication skills
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction in math and science tailored to individual student needs
- Collaborate daily with a co-teacher to support both academic and emotional/behavioral growth
- Develop and implement IEP goals and behavioral interventions as necessary
- Maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with support staff and families
- Contribute to a collaborative faculty culture focused on student success
