Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

This contract role is ideal for an experienced Special Education Teacher with a passion for working with children who have significant cognitive and physical disabilities. The position is for full-time onsite coverage in substantially separate classrooms, focusing on K-1st grade and 3rd-5th grade groups. You’ll be part of a specialized team, collaborating with RBTs and providing essential support to students, some of whom may be on the autism spectrum and non-verbal.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid teaching certification in Special Education
- Experience in substantially separate or self-contained classroom settings
- Skilled in developing and implementing specially designed instruction
- Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) experience is preferred
- Confident with toileting support and other essential care tasks
- Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with multi-disciplinary teams
- Compassion, patience, and a commitment to meeting students at their level
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized instruction tailored to student learning goals
- Implement and monitor IEPs in collaboration with support staff and related service providers
- Adapt curriculum resources for students with complex needs
- Maintain consistent documentation and progress reporting
- Foster a positive, encouraging classroom atmosphere geared toward success and independence
- Collaborate closely with RBTs and other support team members
