Position Overview
The White River Junction VA Medical Center is seeking a highly skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to provide a full spectrum of imaging services to our Veterans. You will work as part of a dedicated radiology team, utilizing state-of-the-art equipment to perform critical diagnostic exams.
Key Responsibilities
- Imaging Excellence: Perform a wide range of exams including GI Bleeds, Cardiac Stress Tests, Bone Scans, Hida Scans, Datscans, and Lung Perfusion/Ventilation scans.
- Equipment Operation: Accurately operate advanced systems such as the Siemens Symbia Intevo Excel and Spectrum Dynamics D-Spect.
- Patient Care: Prepare and administer contrast materials under the direction of a Radiologist; monitor patients for reactions and ensure safety.
- Clinical Documentation: Maintain electronic medical records within the VAs CPRS and VistA systems; ensure all images are properly scanned into the Philips PACS system.
- Radiation Safety: Adhere to strict radiation safety policies to minimize exposure to patients, staff, and yourself.
Required Qualifications
- Certification: Current registration with the ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) or NMTCB (Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board).
- Experience: Minimum of two (2) years of recent experience with advanced Nuclear Medicine applications.
- Life Support: Valid American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in anatomy/physiology and the ability to interpret radiology requests for accuracy and appropriateness.
