This contract opportunity runs from May through June 2026, with the potential for full-time summer hours in a year-round school setting. Flexibility is key—multiple locations await you within the Boston, MA area, ensuring each day brings new experiences and meaningful connections.
As you assist students across Burlington, Arlington, Belmont, Lexington, Belford, and Watertown, your ability to adapt and travel between sites will be valued. Each week, you’ll work 32.5 hours, enjoying a consistent schedule of 7-hour days with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break.
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience as a paraprofessional or in a similar educational support capacity
- Strong interest in working with students with autism and challenging behaviors, including non-verbal individuals
- Ability to foster a positive, safe, and structured learning environment
- Comfortable navigating diverse school locations as needed
- CORI fingerprinting clearance or letter of suitability required
- Team-oriented, flexible, and patient demeanor
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct, individualized assistance to students with a range of developmental and behavioral needs
- Implement teacher-designed instructional and behavioral plans
- Support communication and personal care needs, including for non-verbal students
- Collaborate with special education teachers, therapists, and school staff
- Adapt to different classroom settings, ensuring a smooth transition for both students and peers
