Seeking a reliable, energetic legal assistant / paralegal from 8:30am-5:00pm - Monday-Friday, for a fast-paced Family Law office in East Longmeadow.
Skills & Requirements:
· Paralegal Certificate and/or Degree in Paralegal Studies or Bachelor’s Degree, with at least two years previous experience as a paralegal preferred but not required
· Strong attention to detail including regarding deadlines, scheduling, preparing hearing and trial notebooks and assisting attorneys in preparation for hearings
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills
· Previous experience using a multi-line phone console preferred
· Proficient with Microsoft Office software suite, including Word and Excel
· Ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure, and present a positive, professional image with colleagues, professional staff, and vendors
· Knowledge of TurboLaw™ Software, as well as LexisNexis™ or Westlaw™ is a plus
· Ideal candidates will also have experience understanding basic tax and financial records
· Must be a proficient typist
· Must have reliable transportation
Duties & Responsibilities:
· Drafting pleadings including complaints, motions, subpoenas, settlement agreements, petitions, etc.
· Preparation of client financial statements
· Drafting correspondences to attorneys and clients
· Drafting of discovery requests and/or responses
· Directly assisting attorneys in working a client file from inception through closing including regular and consistent interaction with clients
