About the Role

A reputable demolition contractor operating throughout the region is seeking a skilled and analytical Project Estimator to join their growing team. This position plays a critical role in the company's preconstruction process, responsible for developing accurate and competitive cost estimates across a range of demolition and environmental abatement projects.

Core Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs and cost estimates for demolition, selective demolition, and hazardous material abatement scopes
  • Review and analyze project plans, specifications, and contract documents to identify full scope of work
  • Solicit, review, and level subcontractor and supplier bids to ensure competitive and complete pricing
  • Conduct site visits and pre-bid walkthroughs to assess existing conditions and identify potential project risks
  • Collaborate with project management and operations teams to develop realistic budgets and schedules
  • Maintain and update internal cost databases, unit pricing, and historical project data
  • Track bid activity, deadlines, and award outcomes to support business development efforts
  • Build and maintain relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and general contractors
  • Prepare and present detailed bid packages and proposals to clients and stakeholders
  • Support project handoffs by clearly communicating scope, assumptions, and cost breakdowns to the field team

Qualifications

Required:

  • Minimum of 3–5 years of estimating experience in demolition, abatement, construction, or a closely related field
  • Strong understanding of demolition methods, site logistics, and construction sequencing
  • Proficiency in takeoff and estimating software
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and geotechnical reports
  • Excellent analytical, mathematical, and organizational skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline
  • Familiarity with hazardous material abatement scopes including asbestos, lead, and mold remediation
  • Experience with Sage 300, Bluebeam, or similar construction software platforms
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
