Job Description:

The Electronics Assembler is responsible for performing a variety of assembly and wiring operations at various levels of assembly, working from engineering drawings, schematics and/or wiring diagrams. Examples of assemblies include electrical and microwave circuits, Electro-optical and mechanical systems.

Essential Duties:

  • Utilize Assembly Instructions, drawings, blueprints and/or schematics to perform bench builds of various wire assemblies.

  • Utilize various type cables, harnesses, printed circuit cards (PTH & SMT) and chassis wiring.

  • Use various types of potting and epoxy compounds, wiring on or near optics and other assigned work.

  • Perform a variety of functions including clamping, checking clearances, crimping, wire dressing, soldering and mechanical assembly of components.

  • Maintain appropriate production records.

  • Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly manner.

  • Observe and follow all safety rules and regulations.

  • Wire previously installed components and subassemblies into main assemblies and perform assembly of components.

  • Reading and interpreting assembly instructions, engineering drawings, blueprints, wiring diagrams and schematics.

  • Perform a variety of harness and cable assembly installations.

  • Ability to sit or stand for up to 10 hours at a time.

  • Must be able to lift 30-50lbs with assistance.

  • PPE must be worn in designated work areas. (ESD Lab coats, ESD safety shoes, and safety glasses)

  • IPC 620 and J Standard Certs.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD clearance.

  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Job Qualification Requirements:

Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 4 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience

  • United States Citizenship required with ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance.

  • Familiarity with solder processes and Resistor (IPC) color code.

  • Must be able to obtain an IPC 620 and J Standard Certificate.

Additional Preferred Skills:

  • Preferred is electronic assembly experience in the aerospace, defense, or medical industry.
