Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting elementary-age students as a Special Education Teacher. This full-time position runs from October 19, 2026, through June 14, 2027, offering 35 hours per week immersed in a collaborative environment focused on student success.

Work within a dedicated team of four teachers, serving a caseload in a Language Development Skills (LDS) classroom. You’ll provide targeted instruction and accommodations for learners with reading, writing, and math learning disabilities, as well as students with high-functioning Autism Spectrum Disorder. Qualifications and Credentials:

• Valid Vermont Teaching License, including one or more of the following:
  • Special Educator Endorsement
  • Special Education Consulting Teacher Endorsement
  • Intensive Special Education Teacher Endorsement
• Experience teaching or supporting elementary-age students, particularly those with learning disabilities and/or on the autism spectrum
• Ability to work on-site throughout the contract dates
• Fingerprinting clearance (recent, district-accepted fingerprints permitted)
• Strong communication skills and a team mindset

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver individualized and small group instruction aligned with students’ learning plans
• Adapt curriculum and classroom strategies to support diverse learning needs
• Collaborate daily with fellow SPED staff, PT/OT professionals, and educational team
• Monitor and document progress; participate in IEP meetings as required
• Foster positive working relationships with students, staff, and families
