Meadow Breeze Day Camp is looking to fill positions for our 8-week summer camp programs, grades Kindergarten to 11th grade. LCA is a grade 6-12 independent Christian school located in Lexington, MA. Since 1966, Meadow Breeze Day Camp at LCA has been offering an exceptional traditional day camp for kids of all ages.
As a Summer Camp Lifeguard, you play a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of campers during aquatic activities. This position requires strong swimming skills, lifeguard certification, and the ability to respond effectively to emergencies. Lifeguards contribute to creating a positive and enjoyable experience for campers by maintaining a safe aquatic environment.
Responsibilities:

Water Safety:

Monitor campers during swimming and water-based activities to ensure their safety.

Enforce water safety rules and guidelines to prevent accidents.

Lifeguard Duties:
-
Act as a certified lifeguard, performing regular surveillance of the swimming area.

Be vigilant for signs of distress and respond promptly to emergencies.

Emergency Response:
-
Implement established emergency procedures in the event of accidents or injuries.

Administer first aid, CPR, or other life-saving measures as needed.

Communication:
-
Effectively communicate with campers, fellow lifeguards, and camp staff.

Provide clear instructions to campers regarding safety rules and behavior expectations.

Collaboration:

Collaborate with the Aquatics Supervisor and camp staff to coordinate water-based activities.

Work closely with activity specialists and counselors to ensure a smooth and enjoyable aquatic experience for campers.

Documentation:

Keep accurate records of any incidents, accidents, or interventions.

Report incidents to camp leadership and follow reporting protocols.

Qualifications:
-
Lifeguard certification from a recognized organization.
-
CPR and First Aid certification.
-
Strong swimming skills and comfort in open water.

Ability to stay alert and focused during assigned shifts.

Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Physical Requirements:

Ability to swim long distances and perform rescues in the water.

Endurance and physical fitness to respond to emergencies quickly
Requirements:

Minimum 16 years of age +

Valid Standard First Aid and CPR Certification (recommended)

Lifeguard Certification (required)

Complete a CORI background check

Attend all training sessions

LOCATION: Main Campus - 48 Bartlett Ave Lexington, MA 02420
DATES: June 22-August 14, 2025, Mon-Fri
TIME: Day camps run every week day from 8:00AM-3:00PM and AfterCamp runs every week day from 3:30PM-5:30PM
PAY: Seasonal, $16-$20/hr based on experience
SCHEDULE: Camp training & orientation is June 15th & June 16th, 2026. Apart from our specialty camps, staff are asked to work a majority of the 8 weeks of camp. There is no camp on July 3rd due to the 4th of July holiday weekend. Camp staff need to arrive each day at 7:30AM and are expected to stay until 3:30PM, unless working AfterCamp.
