The Town of Brewster is seeking qualified, professional, team-oriented applicants for the position of Master Mechanic for the Captains Golf Course, a 36-hole golf facility. This position implements a comprehensive preventative maintenance program for the golf department’s comprehensive fleet of equipment. The maintenance program includes repair of equipment, detailed recording keeping, and maintaining parts and supplies for equipment and services.
Under the direction of the Golf Superintendent, the Master Mechanic will inspect, diagnose, and repair a wide variety of specialized golf course equipment for a 36-hole golf courses facility and driving range. Assist the Superintendent in planning for long range equipment needs, determining specifications for new equipment and accessories for current equipment. The Master Mechanic places safety as top priority and is responsible for maintaining an orderly and clean service and maintenance area. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to modernize preventative maintenance systems and contribute to a culture focused on accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
High School diploma and a minimum of three years of experience in a lead mechanical or fleet management role, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. 2A and 1C hoisting licenses required, or the ability to obtain licenses in the first year of employment. This is a full-time, year-round 40 hour a week position covered by the Service Employees International Union agreement with a pay range of $32.81 - $40.35 per hour, starting pay dependent on qualifications and experience.
