Schedule & Location:

The operating hours will be Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm. It is anticipated that this will begin as a part-time position working two (2) days per week with the opportunity to transition to a full-time position as patient volume increases.


It is anticipated that an incumbent in this role will work on-site in our clinic located in the Whittier Rehabilitation Hospital in Haverhill, MA. Work hours and location are subject to change based on business needs. Travel between multiple infusion clinic locations will be required.

Job Description:

The Nurse Practitioner (NP) is responsible for the oversight and delivery of safe and professional IV therapy in an Ambulatory Infusion Suite (AIS)/Ambulatory Infusion Clinic (AIC) environment. This role involves the management of patients receiving specialty medications for neurological, rheumatologic, gastroenterological, and immunological disorders. The NP will provide direct patient care, implement best clinical practices, oversee infusion administration, and ensure compliance with all regulatory standards. Additionally, the NP will collaborate with clinical staff, referral sources, and business leadership to optimize care delivery and operational efficiency across multiple locations.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Master’s degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program required
  • Active and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner (NP) license in the state of practice.
  • Current DEA and state-controlled substance license.
  • National Provider Identifier (NPI) number.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications required
  • Experience with patient care coordination, inventory management, and regulatory compliance in an outpatient infusion setting.
  • Strong IV access skills and knowledge of biologic and specialty medication protocols.
  • Experience with EMR documentation and workflow optimization.

QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED

  • Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) certification preferred
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience in infusion therapy and management of patients on specialty medications preferred
  • Minimum of five (5) years of infusion therapy experience in an AIS/AIC environment preferred

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop, implement, and oversee infusion plans of treatment, evaluating patient progress and modifying care as necessary.
  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments, prescribe medications, and manage infusion therapies in alignment with state scope of practice and collaboration agreements.
  • Provide direct patient care, including physical assessments, lab test interpretation, medication prescriptions, and infusion administration.
  • Educate patients and caregivers on infusion treatments, ensuring patient safety and adherence to therapy.
  • Coordinate patient scheduling, oversee staffing, and optimize workflow for clinical operations.
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Monitor and manage medication and supply inventory per clinical guidelines.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including HIPAA and payer credentialing requirements.
  • Collaborate with referring providers, clinical staff, and administrative teams to optimize patient care.
  • Lead quality assurance activities, accreditation compliance, and process improvement initiatives.
  • Provide mentorship and supervision to clinical staff, including RNs, LPNs, and administrative personnel.
  • Participate in staff training, orientation, and professional development programs.
  • Respond promptly to patient concerns and medical emergencies within scope of practice.
  • Oversee multi-site clinical operations as needed and ensure adherence to best clinical practices.
  • Supervision of Registered Nurses (RNs), Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), and clinical administrative staff.

KNOWLEDEGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIREMENTS

  • Clinical Expertise – Extensive knowledge of infusion therapy, specialty medications, and management of patients with neurological, rheumatologic, gastroenterological, and immunological disorders in an Ambulatory Infusion Suite/Clinic setting.
  • Patient-Centered Care – Ability to assess, diagnose, and manage patients while providing high-quality, evidence-based care with a focus on patient safety, education, and satisfaction.
  • Regulatory Compliance – Understanding of state and federal regulations, including HIPAA, OSHA, and infusion therapy protocols, to ensure adherence to industry and company standards.
  • Pharmacology & Medication Administration – Proficiency in prescribing, preparing, and administering intravenous (IV) and subcutaneous medications, including biologics, immunotherapies, and specialty drugs.
  • Critical Thinking & Decision-Making – Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to evaluate patient responses, adjust treatment plans, and manage adverse reactions effectively.
  • Leadership & Team Collaboration – Ability to oversee clinical staff, provide mentorship, and work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Technology & EMR Proficiency – Skilled in using electronic medical records (EMR) systems for patient documentation, scheduling, and reporting, as well as other clinical software and equipment.
  • Communication & Interpersonal Skills – Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with patients, caregivers, physicians, and healthcare teams with clarity and professionalism.
  • Time Management & Multitasking – Ability to prioritize and manage multiple patients, treatments, and administrative tasks efficiently in a fast-paced clinical setting.
  • Adaptability & Initiative – Proactive in identifying opportunities for improvement, implementing best practices, and staying current with industry advancements in infusion therapy and ambulatory care.

Communication Skills
