POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Think Tank seeks a Senior Research Assistant Level II to support NOAA with manuscript development and publication for the Senior Scientist. The role involves conducting literature reviews, maintaining bibliographic databases, organizing references, and collaborating on the drafting, editing, and completion of scientific manuscripts of national and international interest.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

Conduct literature searches using scientific databases (e.g., Web of Science).

Capture, organize, and manage references in bibliographic databases (e.g., Zotero, Endnote).

Maintain and update bibliographic resources and provide regular reports to the Senior Scientist.

Assist in revising outlines and ensure manuscripts follow logical structure.

Draft, co-edit, and insert references into manuscripts.

Ensure accurate referencing of topical statements across documents.

Collaborate with the Senior Scientist in developing manuscripts for peer-reviewed publication.
REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum: M.S. in marine science, fisheries, ecosystems, resource economics, or related field, with experience conducting literature searches.

Preferred: Ph.D. with demonstrated experience in the scientific publication process.

Strong background in technical writing and editing.

Experience managing bibliographic databases and references.

Ability to synthesize information and contribute to collaborative scientific writing.
