Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
An opportunity is available for a Special Education Teacher to serve middle school students in a contract position running throughout the current school year. This role is based in New Bedford, MA, and focuses on providing tailored educational support to students with diverse learning needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students requiring special education services.
- Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to adapt curriculum and instructional strategies.
- Monitor student progress and adjust teaching methods to meet evolving needs.
- Maintain accurate records and communicate regularly with parents, guardians, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Foster an inclusive and supportive classroom environment that promotes student growth and engagement.
Desired Qualifications:
- Certified Special Education Teacher credential, with experience preferably at the middle or high school level.
- Knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices.
- Strong classroom management and communication skills.

- Experience in assessment and progress monitoring relevant to special education.
