Controller
Location: Greenfield, MA (Onsite)
Compensation: $140,000–$160,000 + Bonus
About the Opportunity
Our client is seeking a hands-on Controller to lead the accounting function for a growing manufacturing organization. This role will partner closely with plant leadership and executive management while overseeing financial reporting, manufacturing accounting, cost accounting, inventory, and month-end close. The ideal candidate enjoys working in the business, improving processes, and serving as a strategic partner to operations.
Responsibilities
- Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process.
- Oversee manufacturing accounting, including inventory, standard costing, WIP, and cost variances.
- Prepare financial statements, forecasts, budgets, and management reporting.
- Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including AP, AR, cash management, and general ledger.
- Partner with operations to analyze manufacturing performance, inventory, and profitability.
- Maintain strong internal controls and support annual audits.
- Drive process improvements and help optimize ERP and financial reporting systems.
- Lead and develop the accounting team while supporting business growth.
Qualifications
- 8+ years of accounting experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Previous Controller or Assistant Controller experience.
- Strong background in manufacturing accounting, inventory, standard costing, and financial reporting.
- Experience partnering with plant leadership and operations.
- Advanced Excel and ERP experience.
Preferred
- CPA or CMA.
- ERP implementation or optimization experience.
- Multi-site and/or private equity manufacturing experience.
