Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Scientist to join our team. This role involves the start-up of a lab, including the setup of single-use technology bioreactors, ensuring all documentation meets compliance and validation standards. The successful candidate will manage materials and inventory, establish a structured storage area, and implement an efficient inventory management system. Additionally, you will support project and operational activities, assisting the project team in achieving daily and weekly milestones and facilitating lab equipment testing and setup.
Responsibilities
- Setup single-use technology bioreactors, including equipment delivery, unboxing, assembly, setup, and operation.
- Troubleshoot issues and ensure documentation meets compliance and validation standards.
- Establish and organize a structured storage area for raw materials and spare equipment.
- Implement an inventory management system to track consumables, reagents, and spare parts.
- Support the overall project team in meeting key daily and weekly milestones.
- Facilitate receipt, setup, and functional testing of lab equipment at all scales.
- Develop and maintain a list of spares for all deployed equipment.
Essential Skills
- Experienced with single-use technology bioreactors: unbox, setup, start-up, troubleshoot, and operate.
- Understanding of turnover packages (TOPs).
- Proficiency with DeltaV distributed control system.
- Bachelor’s degree in Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in lab operations or bioprocessing involving single-use technologies.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Proven ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, procurement, and project management teams.
- Comfortable working with a remote manager and providing weekly updates.
- Willingness to track work completed on a weekly basis and monitor deliverables.
- Ability to organize schedule and work independently.
Work Environment
This role is based in a lab environment onsite, requiring hands-on work with advanced technologies and equipment. The successful candidate will be comfortable working independently and collaboratively, with a focus on achieving project milestones and maintaining an organized workspace.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Plainville, MA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $57.00 - $70.00/hr.
